Children and Youth
Expressing emotions, feelings and frustrations can be very difficult for children and adolescents as they often don’t know themselves what they feel, they just know, or you as their parent or caregiver know, that something feels not right.
Using any number of art materials such as clay, paint, pastels, collage or puppetry, children and youth are able to access and process emotions that talk along could not have accessed. It is important to note that no previous art experience or ability is required.
Jo-Anne has worked with children from ages 4 – 18, within a mental health agency, in public and private schools and in private practice. Children find her easy to relate to and she conveys a sense of calm and safety. She is also a mother herself to three grown children.
